As part of our “Meet the Team Behind the Transformation”series, we sat down with Andrew (Andy) Blackham, our Technical Partner Manager,to hear his thoughts on Synapse’s rebrand and how it reflects our evolution intechnology, partnerships, and vision for the future. With a career that’s takenhim from Dell to Synapse, Andy brings a unique perspective on how our bold newidentity supports our growth and strengthens our relationships.
Q1: Andy, thanks for joining us. What does the new brandtransformation mean to you personally?
Before joining Synapse, I spent seven years at Dell workingclosely with the Synapse team, watching them grow from a small specialistpartner into a respected and trusted name in the Dell ecosystem. Now, havingjoined Synapse less than a year ago, it’s incredibly exciting to be part of thenext chapter- one where we’re stepping confidently into the public eye with abrand that truly reflects who we are.
The transformation isn’t just cosmetic; it’s a signal ofsolid growth, a constant upward trajectory, and a renewed sense of purpose.Being part of this journey, especially at such a pivotal moment, is energizingand full of possibility.
Q2: As a Technical Partner Manager, how does the rebrandbetter reflect our evolution in technology and innovation?
The new brand identity marks a shift in how we positionourselves, not just as a reseller or a single-vendor advocate, but as a truepartner in our customers’ technology journey.
Historically, our business was built on a strongrelationship with Dell, and that foundation helped us reach where we are today. But now, we’re expanding our ecosystem to include new technologies and vendorsthat complement and enhance that legacy while also exploring solutions thatmeet the evolving needs of our customers, especially in the public and hybridcloud space.
The rebrand reflects that evolution. It shows we’reconfident, forward-thinking, and committed to delivering value through abroader, more agile partner strategy.
Q3: In your view, what defines a truly impactfultechnology partnership and how does the rebrand support that vision?
A truly impactful technology partnership is built on sharedvision, aligned objectives, and mutual benefit. It’s not just about deliveringsolutions; it’s about growing together, solving real problems, and creatinglong-term value for both parties.
Trust is a key trait in that equation. It’s a word that getsthrown around a lot, but at Synapse, it’s something we take seriously. We applyit when choosing who we work with and how we collaborate.
The new brand and website reflect that philosophy — withdedicated pages for our technology partners, we’re showing that theserelationships are central to how we operate and evolve. It’s a moretransparent, confident, and collaborative identity that supports the kind ofpartnerships we believe in.
Q4: How do you see our ecosystem of tech partnersevolving under our new brand identity?
The new brand is designed to make us stand out bold, vibrant, and unmistakably different from the typical blue-and-grey techaesthetic. It’s not just about being visually distinctive; it’s aboutsignalling our intent.
Both Josh and I share a vision to be bold in our approach topartnerships, embracing new and varied vendors that align with the evolvingneeds of our customers. This brand gives us the confidence and visibility to dojust that.
It reflects our shift toward a more dynamic, multi-vendorecosystem that’s built around solving real-world challenges, not justdefaulting to a single solution. It’s about being seen as a trusted guide inthe customer journey, wherever that may lead.
Q5: What excites you most about what’s ahead?
I feel incredibly fortunate in my role here at Synapse, it’sthe kind of position many would envy. One of the most exciting aspects isworking closely with Josh Eastel, whose depth of knowledge and shared visioncontinue to inspire and challenge me.
I also get to explore new and emerging technologies, whichis a real passion of mine. The vendors we’ve onboarded so far like: Druva,HYCU, and Wasabi, have already shown signs of becoming long-term,impactful partnerships. There’s a genuine alignment in values and energy, andI’m looking forward to bringing on even more vendors who share that samepassion and commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for our customers.
Andy’s interview highlights exactly why our rebrand matters. It’s not just about looking different, it’s about thinking differently andacting with greater confidence. With a dynamic approach to partnerships, abroader technology ecosystem, and a culture that blends innovation with energy,Synapse is poised for an exciting future.
