Synapse360 website
Synapse360 collects information from you via emails sent and telephone calls registered and logged. Synapse360 also collects information regarding your usage of the site and as aggregate information.
Any personal or corporate data you provide through this website is only used for the purpose(s) for which it was provided or requested. It is never sold to or shared with any other third party
Purpose of Processing Statement
To advise relevant contacts (those responsible for IT decision-making at organisations) of new products, services, offers, news and stories about data centre and cloud services and best practice that would be relevant to their job function and business requirements at their organisation. This activity is categorised as ‘advertising, marketing, and public relations’ by the ICO.
Synapse360 both processes this information itself and uses third party agencies who process/use the data on behalf of Synapse360. Data is not shared with third parties for the processor’s own use, however data may be shared with our vendor partners in order for Synapse360 to provide correct advice, guidance and information on the vendors’ products and services, within the guidance of the GDPR Legitimate Interest framework.
Personal data used by Synapse360 is purchased from third party data suppliers who have met GDPR data privacy compliance criteria in gathering and obtaining explicit permission at time of collection. Occasionally data may be provided by our business partners (who have their own GDPR compliance procedures) or by Synapse360 researching, building, and maintaining data sets where we believe there is a legitimate interest. Personal data may also be submitted via our website, however our website does not retain personal data. Data is regularly checked against the CTPS and PECR Guidelines.
Personal data includes, email address, telephone numbers and organisational address. Additional non-personal data is collected where appropriate, such as details on technology used and business intentions.
Data subjects can request removal or request information about the source and detail of personal data held at any time by contacting Marketing@Synapse360.com, calling 0330 660 0001, or by email to The Data Controller, Synapse360, 3 Oakwater Avenue, Cheadle Royal Business Park, Stockport, SK8 3SR. Synapse360 will respond within the legal timeframes (within one month of receipt of a request).
Legitimate Interest Assessment Statement
Synapse360 sells data centre hardware, software, and services to organisations (both commercial and public). Our customers are the IT decision-makers within these organisations and typically have job titles such as IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager, IT Director or similar. In some instances, these contacts may be business managers at smaller companies where there isn’t a dedicated IT contact. These roles are tasked with delivering IT services within their organisations and for purchasing hardware and software and therefore have interest in receiving offers, news, trends, and articles that might create efficiencies for their organisations or help with relevant business challenges.
Synapse360 contacts relevant individuals through email and telemarketing at their workplace which is a proportionate way of contacting this audience. Synapse360 has considered ‘the balancing test’ and has considered the nature of the data being processed: names, organisational details, email and telephone numbers. It would be reasonable for these individuals to expect that they may receive marketing communications as they had previously opted in to receive IT communications.
Synapse360 considers the impact of these communications is likely to be minimal, however, all communications will contain a clearly visible opt out.
Data Retention Periods
Synapse360 will hold personal data as long as the individual wishes to receive communications from Synapse360. Individuals and companies who have opted out of communications will not receive further communications from Synapse360 (customer servicing excepted), however limited personal details (typically email addresses) will remain on an ‘opt out’ file to ensure they are not inadvertently contacted. Synapse360 will review data retention periods on an ongoing basis.
